We are very pleased to accompany our new call for collaborators on the theme of physical diagnosis with this fantastic interview. Jenn Ashworth, a novelist, short story writer and Professor of Writing at Lancaster University, was unexpectedly diagnosed with a brain tumour just before Christmas 2022. While the tumour was benign, treatment and surgery has left her with hearing loss. In this interview, Jenn shares her experiences and discusses how a diagnosis not just a marker of health and illness, but a blurring of boundaries between therapy and healing, ability and disability, and caring and being cared for.
